Live Videos

There's something magical about live music. However, it's essence cannot be fully captured through audio alone. Videos help us relive this experience as best as possible, it enables us to share it with others. Below, you'll find some of my past works, each recorded with live audiences as unique reminders of those performances. Concerts and gigs are environments where I feel like a fish in water. Year by year, I find the rush of capturing the moment when shooting video being hard to one up.

Session and Studio Videos

The thrill of recording in a studio and session environment is undeniable for everyone involved. For a videographer, it's a space where every visual variable is mostly under creative control. The lighting, the angles, the sound; all can be finely tuned to capture the essence of the performance. Yet, despite this controlled setting, the pressure of being discreet and almost invisible remains. It’s about capturing raw, unfiltered moments without disrupting the flow of creativity. Sometimes, it's just the opposite - recording a band to a prerecorded track and making them bring out the best of their performance. Below you'll find studio and session projects I was glad to be a part of:

About Me - My Experience as a Band Videographer

Hello there! I'm Dariusz. I first picked up a guitar in early high school, soon after I've started my first band and just few years later I dove headfirst into the world of local live music scene. Over the years, I’ve played in various projects, which has given me a decent understanding of what it’s like to perform live, a good comprehension of the stage technicalities, all along with the unique musician lingo. This was crucial to becoming a knowledgable and versatile band videographer.

In around 2011, I began exploring video production. It quickly became clear that those two passions were on a direct collision course. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to create videos in a multitude of venues, mastering the art of working in low light, time pressure and under tight deadlines. I’ve also gained substantial experience in studio settings, events, including sessions broadcasted live on radio, while occasionally taking on audio mixing gigs.

Under my previous moniker Fractal Videos I’ve produced videos for well over 50 bands, and that's excluding solo artists, collectives, numerous one-time projects, while building lasting relationships with musicians, many resulting in returning collaborations. I've filmed bands in London, Warsaw, Manchester, Kraków, Gdańsk, and other cities, from countries such as Spain, Austria, USA, Poland or UK. I've done videos in best venues in Poland: B90, Progresja, Stary Maneż, or Stodoła. The list of bands in my portfolio includes, but is not limited to artists like:

Lucky Chops, Mikromusic, Obisidian Kingdom, Illusion, Tymon Tymański, Lipali, Krzta, The Materia, Jeru The Damaja, Abstract Orchestra, Slum Village, Witchrider, Farben Lehre, Mechanism, Moose The Tramp, Milczenie Owiec, Sautrus, The Black Thunder, Calm Hatchery, eM, Drown My Day, Łyko, Moust, Odd Stars, 441 Hz, Closterkeller, Mitra, Venflon, The Shipyard, Bollywood Brass Band, Thesis, Motorłeb, Alcoholica, Lowtide, Lux Perpetua, Gutter Sirens, Kozi Syn, Invicto, Fractal, FNAG, Deer Head On The Wall, Caren Coltrane Crusade and others.

When I’m not working on videos or writing code, I'm preoccupied with playing the guitar, composing music, or keeping my eyes sharp in the wilderness with a bow and arrow. As you might have guessed from this sections' cover video, I have an odd sense of humour, but that's fine, I think.

Contact Me

If you have a project in mind, or you just have a song that needs a video to go along with it, don't hesitate to contact me! I'd love to work in a live or studio environment. A link to your music would be appreciated, especially if you have material you'd like me to work on — but it's not necessary. Since I also programmed and developed this (nice looking) page, and if you're in a need of webpage for your band or yourself, I can do that too.

Highlighted Projects

Just as it's hard for anyone to pick a favorite band, for it's equally challenging to choose a single favorite video I've created. Instead, I’d like to showcase a selection of projects that demonstrate my versatility. Whether you play death metal, jazz, funk, or trip-hop, no gig is too difficult to capture on film (unless I need to put on night-vision goggles to pull focus or just to walk around). So, take a look at the diverse and eclectic collection that is my portfolio:

Lucky Chops "Live in Warsaw"

Capturing Lucky Chops live in Warsaw was a videographer's dream come true. The band brought the raw energy of New York's jazz and funk scene straight to the heart of Poland, delivering a performance that could rival any stadium rock spectacle. With thundering modern drums and a rumble of catchy brass, the band's dynamic showmanship was on full display. Filming this event was a pure pleasure, and the resulting video was so compelling it was used successfully in Lucky Chops' campaign to fund their next album and promote their world tour.

Mikromusic "Live in Stary Maneż"

This video project was born from a spontaneous opportunity — thanks to a Facebook post and a recommendation, I found myself filming Mikromusic in Gdansk days before the event. Despite the last-minute organization, the video is anything but rushed. It captures the essence of Mikromusic’s concert magic, giving viewers insight into the phenomenon behind their success. The video showcases how their masterfully crafted songs resonate deeply with audiences, a true testament to their artistry.

Illusion "Tchórz" Live Music Video

One of the benefits of working with bands is that sometimes you get to work with musicians you've seen couple of times on the TV. Filming Illusion, the hard rock and metal icons of the polish soil, was one such experience. While I had previously worked on videos for Lipali, the lead vocalist’s other project, the chance to capture Illusion both in the studio and live was truly special. Given full creative freedom, I infused the videos promoting their latest release "Anhedonia" with an old-school vibes that perfectly complement the band’s raw energy - just like I remembered seeing them on the telly.

Obsidian Kingdom "Live in Gdańsk"

Filming Obsidian Kingdom in Gdansk was a thrilling challenge — keeping the camera steady and focused while resisting the urge to headbang in the midst of flashing strobe lights was no easy task. The band’s electrifying performance at B90 was amplified by a dramatic lighting setup that played perfectly with the venue's shadows and industrial atmosphere. Remarkably, the video features sound straight from the mixing board, as heard from the PA, capturing the raw, and authentic energy of the night. This video is a testament to the power of having a dedicated light and sound team, and of course, a videographer who knows how to bring the music to your screen.

Lucky Chops "D20 - Castle Version"

When Lucky Chops returned to tour in Poland, another joint project was inevitable. This time, we captured their vibrant energy not only within the walls of a club Kwadrat in Cracow, but also took the band to the streets, echoing their New York roots. The "Castle" version, was filmed on the rocks of historic Wawel Castle, by the Vistula River, and was edited to multiple versions. The Castle version landed on our Facebook profile, while the full, raw, Judas Priest-esque club performance was shared on the band’s official channels. Filming a band in such an iconic location was a unique experience, adding another memorable chapter to our collabs.
